All right.
Hi, everyone.
It's been a little while since I've been with you.
Good to see everyone here.
I will not bury the lead, and I will start off with the news that we have this morning, which is we have a new nomination for the position of Secretary-General, I think, as many of you know, We received a nomination from Antigua and Barbuda nominating miss Maria Fernandes Espinosa for the position of Secretary-General.
So that's the latest news that we have.
We will update the website with all of the accompanying materials shortly, so that will be available, including the bio vision statement, photo, and financial disclosure documents.
So that should be done shortly.
In terms of other things happening this week, yesterday, today, and tomorrow, there are informal consultations on the ninth binnial review of the United Nations global counterterrorism strategy, and that's happening in conference room too, and that will be taking place.
There were meetings yesterday and then today as well as tomorrow.
Also happening tomorrow, I shared a note with you.
In the morning and the afternoon in the Economic and Social Council chamber, there will be the interactive dialogues for candidates for the position of PGA 81 for the 81st session.
So at 10:00, there will be the interactive dialogue with Mr.
Andreas Kakouris of Cyprus, followed by the afternoon at 3:00 P.M.
With Mr.
Khalilur Rahman of Bangladesh.
And so those interactive dialogues will also be streamed on UN Web TV.
In addition, tomorrow, there will be the continuation of the counterterrorism strategy biennial review.
There are no formal or plenary meetings scheduled for Thursday or Friday this week.
So that is the look ahead for this week, and then I'll brief next week to take a look at what's happening with the GA next week.
There is a plenary meeting on Wednesday the 20th, which we will review a number of agenda items, which I'll share with you when I brief on Monday.
All right.
Questions, Edie.
Thank you, La Neice.
When is the General Assembly interactive meeting with Maria Fernandes Espinoza going to be set? Yes.
So we'll have to look at dates that are available.
The PGA will work with staff members because as you know, one, there might be additional nominations, so we don't know.
We can't predict that.
But also, you know, we have to find a room, we have to find a time when the member states are available.
And so that was a challenge for the previous group of interactive dialogues where all the logistical things that need to be done.
So we'll be sharing with you soon as we have an idea when that might happen.
And if there are other nominations, that way we can kind of cluster them together.
All right.
Oh, sorry, yes, Paul.
Thank you, La Neice.
Hi.
Maria Fernandes in business.
He's submitted by not by his own country, right? Correct.
She was the government of Antigua and Barbuda has submitted her nomination.
So does that mean that she does not get the support of her own country, Ecuador? You know what? I actually don't know.
That would be a good question for the government of Ecuador or the mission of Ecuador here.
We are not privy to the information behind the scenes of how candidates are nominated or how countries choose to nominate or not nominate candidates.
So I couldn't answer that for you.
But of the candidates that we have, of the five now, we have three who have been nominated by countries that are not their own.
Okay.
Thank you.
